I decided I wanted a change of pace in my life, being born and raised in the Carson Valley, and decided there was no better time than to go to The Paul Mitchell Academy in Sacramento, California. There, I was able to experience the fast paced California life, and was able to enjoy the diversity of all ethnicities, and types of personalities of people. I loved the difference between my hometown of Gardnerville and what Sacramento had to offer.
I was taught advanced and technical color cutting. They also taught us how to think outside of the box for those special clients who don't want just the ordinary, which sparks my creativity.
I love doing hair and makeup, and enjoy learning about fashion, because when fashion changes hair changes. I love the creativity about doing hair, but mostly I enjoy how it makes people feel which means I did my job.
I am excited to start my career off at Drago's doing what I love to do with people who also feel the same way.

I was born and raised in the Carson Valley. I graduated from Douglas High School and shortly after, attended Paul Mitchell, the School, in San Diego. It was there where I was trained in advanced technical cutting and coloring.
When I'm not at the salon, I spend most of my free time with my family and friends.

I am a Master Stylist, excelling in precision cutting, multi-dimensional color and highlighting and advanced styling, both modern and classic. I received my training through the University of Cosmetology in Michigan and additional advanced training in San Francisco. I have studied techniques through Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Redken and Paul Mitchell. I believe that we never stop learning, and I continue to improve my skills through advanced education programs and hair shows. Keeping your skills and ideas fresh and new is also important. I love what I do, and I believe that shines through in my work.

I grew up here in the Valley and attended Beauty School locally. I spent a short time in Southern California where I was a make-up artist.
My passion for art and creativity and my love for being with people is what brought me to the industry of hair design. I have completed a one year apprenticeship with Drago and am currently taking classes on Vidal Sassoon precision cutting and color technique. I have also taken color classes at both Redken and UNITE Eurotherapy.
My goal as a stylist is to deliver beautiful, functional hair with a creative touch tailored to each client. I look forward to seeing you in the Salon.

I started at Drago'Salon when I was 15 as a part-time receptionist. It was then that I fell in love with this industry. Shortly after graduating from high school, I attended The Reno Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner School. It was there that they taught me precision cutting, coloring and how to cater to the client's needs. Even though I am out of school, I enjoy attending education classes to broaden my horizons to different techniques and concepts. I am very excited to be back at Drago's, doing what I love. When I am not having fun at work, I enjoy being with my friends and traveling.

I grew up here in the beautiful Carson Valley and decided to attend a local beauty academy. It was at school that I really discovered my passion for aesthetics and skin care. This industry is a people industry and the perfect fit for me! I enjoy helping people and making them feel confident in thier skin. Continued education is an indispensable asset as an aesthetician, I look forward to expanding my knowledge of skin care needs and techniques in order to better educate my clients and myself.

I have been very blessed to have this opportunity to work here at Drago'Salon where I will be supported in the goals I have for furthering my career. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, serving in my church, going to the movies, spending time outdoors, and going to baseball games. I also love singing, reading, playing music, and trying my hand at cooking.

Irene Wellington

After spending six years at U. C. Berkeley, in search of something to be passionate about, I fell madly in love with horses and spent 35 years on a character-building journey that centered around their care and education-much to the horror and disappointment of my father.

During that time I knew numerous horses that were literally transformed physically as well as mentally by the use of alternative therapies (chiropractic, massage, and energy work like acupuncture, reiki, cranial sacral therapy, etc.) and early on began to seek out these same modalities to heal my own aches and pains. The outcome was often profound, and as a result I began studying massage, Zero Balancing and Reiki nearly 10 years ago. The universe seemed to conspire to draw me to spend the second-half of my life immersed in this world of healing intent. Enrolling in the massage program at the Bodhi Tree Center for Healing Arts in Carson City, I graduated last year and was nationally certified shortly thereafter.

There are many avenues to explore in the world of health and wellness and I look forward to taking advantage of the numerous continuing education opportunities available in this field to deepen my understanding and skill. I feel so fortunate to be the massage therapist here at Drago'Salon. There is laughter, harmony, commitment and integrity here.

It is a blessing to have discovered two passions in my life-so far. Three if you include romping with my golden retriever "Chappy", especially in the beautiful Sierra Nevadas. He is a role model for all that is joyful and loving and forgiving in this world. I am grateful . Life is good!
